How do i fix fullscreen?
Every time i launch in fullscreen the game is in a tiny square without any borders in my screen center, i've tried all resolutions, i've tried all compatibility modes and i've tried messing with my settings on Windows, i can only change resolution in the launcher not ingame unless i'm in windowed mode, as soon as i go back to fullscreen the resolution bar gets emptied and i return to the small borderless square as if i play the game in borderless mode with the lowest resolution possible.

So far the only thing that has worked has been playing in windowed mode but then i have the stinky blue bar that every window has, i even tried the normal instead of widescreen resolutions and still fullscreen does not work.

It's playable in windowed but the bright blue bar kinda takes away from the dark horror experience.

Anyone know how to fix this?

I've seen people talk about DPI options but it doesn't seem to be much in there, at most i just check off one or two boxes and still nothing changes.

If it becomes relevant, it's worked before but recently i upgraded my CPU to the AMD Ryzen 7 5700X and my GPU to the PULSE RX 5600 XT

exit the game without Pressing Alt+F4. That problem could be fixed easily by going to where you installed the game Example: (G:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\steamapps\common\Cry of Fear) and Right Clicking on the CoFLaunchApp than going on Compatibility and pressing on -Disable display scaling on high DPI settings- this won't just fix this problem on Cry of Fear (i just copy the message the original one is from 29 june 2016)

Funny thing is i did that, i tried everything i looked up at all the forums and tried anything that would fix it and this didn't fix it.

The game has been fine before its only after i upgraded from my Nvidia 1070 to my Sapphire AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT
I dont think the GPU is the problem. Here's how I fixed it:

- Go to the game page and click the Settings icon > Manage > Browse local files
- Find cof.exe and CoFLaunchApp.exe, (do the following steps on both .EXEs)
- Right click the .exe, go to Properties
- In the Compatibility tab, look for "Change high DPI settings" and click it
- Look under "High DPI scaling override"
- Check the box next to "Override high DPI scaling behavior. Scaling performed by:"
- Make sure it's set to "Application"
- Press OK, Apply, OK, etc.

That fixed it for me, but my problem was that the window was too big. I launched the game at 1080p and it wasnt big anymore. It was because the game was being affected by my display scale (150%).

I keep seeing that all over the place but the problem is i have tried that, i even tried literally every setting in there and it didnt work at all, playing in windowed mode worked but it takes me out of the experience a little bit.

Maybe a little late to this thread, but, I have a similar build (Ryzen 7 5700g and RX 6650 XT), I tried disabling MSI Afterburner and Rivatuner statistics server, because of a similar problem that happened with Darksiders, and it worked for me! If you or anybody facing this problem has a software like this for monitoring fps maybe, this could be the issue
