-Download the CoF fix for 64-bit users and install it (just replace the cof.exe in the game files, link for the fix here: https://www.moddb.com/games/cry-of-fear/downloads/cry-of-fear-crash-patch-for-64-bit-users )

-Then edit the settings for both cof.exe and CoFLaunchApp.exe in Properties and change the following in the Compatibility tab:

Compatibility mode: Windows 7.

Check "Disable fullscreen optimizations" and "Run this program as administrator".

Select "Change high DPI settings" and in the bottom of the new window check "Override high DPI scaling behavior" performed by application.

well, the screen wasnt ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up on the first time i ran the game, but the same thing happened. it got ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up and went to safe mode, even then it didnt run propperly. I restarted the laptop and booted up cry of fear again, and this time it didnt even launch, and a popup appeared with a cry of fear launcher error "cry of fear launcher 1.6"

I think I'm going through the same, but it's saying that there's some error in one of the files in the app and I'm doomed
