Why is Book Simon the 'evil' one?

I'm just curious, not to sound like mean or anything... he goes out of his way to fight through hordes of monsters to find his mom, calmly accepts Sophie's rejection, (unlike Real Simon) shows very little self destructive behaviors throughout the game (other than the scars on his wrist showing that he has been self harming) and acts as normal as can be when one is surrounded by nightmarish abominations. I feel like he represents a more mature/stable side of the Real Simon. But in the good ending he is depicted as the manifestation of Simon's suicidal tendencies, which seems kinda abrupt to me.

Is there like some kind of deeper metaphoric meaning to this that I'm missing here? I don't really understand

Book simon, when fighting agaisn't carcass, its a representation of simon trying to handle rejection, if you kill him, you make it harder for book simon, because, the book simons goal is to kill the real simon, so when you kill him, you make the reall simon get over the rejection, when you get to the doctor, you as the book simon have a choice to give the gun to the doctor purnell, or no, when you give him, you take more damage, this is because you accepted in the reall world to accept purnell's therapy, while not doing it, gives less damage, meaning the doctor has helped less simon, the reason why you are bad its because your main goal as playing as the book simon, is to kill the reall simon, the reall simon created you thru the book and is causing suffering to you by creating monsters that attack you, but im pretty sure reall simon doesn't know this, so he continues to write the book, thus, causing more pain, which is why you push forward to stop the good simon from finishing the book, if you kill the reall simon, you kill yourself as well, but you do that just to end your own suffering forever, not caring about yourself, you can either end it all (including yourself), or you don't, and let the good simon win, the book simon is bad, because he doesn't actually exist, its in his mind (or book if you will), his only goal, its to kill the reall simon

Wouldn't exactly call him "Evil Simon". He's Simon's own representation in his book, fighting the manifestations of his problems and depression.

When real Simon fights Book Simon at the end, it's not really because he's bad or that he was always coming to kill the real Simon or anything like that.

There are many issues and problems that one can have in their depression.
Using the book and through Book Simon, the real Simon fought and overcame all of his problems and this final battle between himself and book Simon is essentially the final nail in "fighting and overcoming his personal problems and flaws" and accepting himself as what he is, a cripple and his new life and not what he used to be (book simon's normal appearance which is himself before the accident).

Also the fact that Book Simon's appearence turns into such a horrific evil figure is simply for the gameplay as shooting a normal looking Simon wouldn't really feel like overcoming your darkness, does it?

Don't worry, in the desired ending, among the things that Simon says at the end is this:
"They let me finish my book, and it has helped me a lot. I wrote a happy ending, just for myself."

Book Simon did have a happy ending.
