Are Cry of Fear and Afraid of Monsters set in the same universe?

We can assume that it is the case, given that in the fifth ending of Cry Of Fear it is seen that the one who drives the car that hit Simon was David from AOM, but this ending is kind of non-canon to the game. Besides, it is just fan-service content and a new experience for players.

But with different fears. But yeah like @Chstr.fla said in Cry of Fear if you go in secret room and take package before you go in final battle. Of course you will see an ending in Cry of Fear where Simon is stuck by car pressing as the Driver was itself David Leatherhoff from AOM

I always had a feeling Simon and David know each other, perhaps they were even friends at one point. I mean it could be possible given their relatively close age. SImon is in his final teen year while David is in his early 20s

also in the memories addon simon says he needs to stop playing so much afraid of monsters but that's more of a joke anyway, still it would be really funny if simon plays afraid of monsters
