Getting the m16 behind sawrunner w/o the camera

i really wanted to get the m16 that is behind sawrunner when you first encounter him going to saxton Ave. after the cutscene ends and he starts chasing you, run to his side and get behind him, then go into the door that is next to the save point. Then simply walk up and grab your new m16 with no sawrunner in sight.
