coop doesn't work?

me and my friend have been attempting to play co-op cry of fear for a while and it just doesn't work, we use hamachi and it doesn't work both ways, but it does work on other half-life engine games like sven co-op.

Do you get an error like "LAN servers are restriced to local clients" error? If so, in the game console, type sv_lan 0, your friend should be able to connect, if its consatly tryring to connect and you get an error like "failed to contact game server", then, you can try for you and your friend to set up a port. If you have other problems you can say them here

I've been sure to type sv_lan 0 every time I host and we've both tried to port-forward, but no luck.

It retries a few times before giving a message that it failed.

try to verify integrity of the game , or it could be firewall issue, or you can try to change ISP.

Make sure you have Hamachi running on all machines and connected to the host. Then connect using the IP address of the host in the in-game console with ~. Me and a few friends got it working like that, hope this helps.
