true that this game has become overrated on the internet. i still admit it's a nicely made game, with a fine atmosphere and the gameplay is partially solid. but other than that the controls feels heavy, there is not enough of places in the inventory (no way to increase it), the accuracy when we shoot enemies is sometimes random, and i am not a fan of the "lost ammo" mechanic even when we reload in mid magazine. as well as the donation system to unlock one weapon etc. it feels ridiculous on a free game IMO. they maybe do what they want with their game but their direction is still discussable. this is my opinion, i don't care if i am in the minority.
Imagine spending 4 years developing a mod for Half-Life 1 and simply asking 10$ for an optional gun that's not required in any way. Also, a survival horror with an inventory mechanic? Whoa, and losing ammo when you discard the magazine? FREAKY!
Plus, you're not getting out of this with the "That's my opinion" card because nobody cares.

why evryone here defend the donation system? it's out of place, it's too much. we expect free things on a freee game. are you dumb? they can have other jobs. and i would just ask for two or three more inventory places . the game was made during foour years and? i don't care of this story plus they must have enough of money with people paying their gun. and i have the right to find that the discarded ammo is too excessive even for a survival. an option would have been welcomed. don't attack me like that please. don't do like mailbox. perhaps some will care about my opinion, so don't say bull***t. please leave me alone when you're not agree. i don't want to make the same story like with mailbox. plus if you don't care about my opinion why do you harass me like that? get help.

the reason that you have limited inventory space is too make it harder i mean come on this isn't an open world game you ain't gonna have a massive inventory system the limited inventory is too make you think about what is more important to take and what is less important and can be picked up again after backtracking while this is padding for the game the dev's themselves have admitted to this i think it benefits the game as it's a unique system while some backtracking can be annoying like the two fuzes for the subway. And the losing ammo mechanic actuallly fits as you are playing a teenager who has never shot a gun before this isn't call of duty this mechanic helps the game stand out from other fps games out there and i wouldn't call responding to your opinion with there own opinion as attacking someone. Instead of complaining about the limited inventory and losing ammo mechanic maybe you should shake off the linear shooter mentality and realise you can't strafe and mouse one every enemy it's just not how the game works. And just like other people have said the donation TMP gun is OPTIONAL you don't need it to play the game you wont be at a disadvantage and it means you can use the inventory slot it would have taken up for something else and it's only there if you want too support the dev's but you don't need too buy it you have an option. Also fun fact the beta inventory system had ammo clips take up an inventory slot so be thankful it's not like that

shut up this is my opinions. and the idea odf donations is stupid. it's too much. the lost ammo should be reserved for higher difficulties options. any i would jeep my ammo on me if i was the protagnist. the artistic direction is top notch on COF but the gameplay is too excessive

okay that's kind of rude

the donation thing isn't stupid you got this game for free it's not like it's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ mandatory to donate to them

i must admit the whole lost ammo thing you keep complaining about just screams first world problems if i can beat the game in under 2 hours and 30 minutes with losing ammo i think you can too this isn't a call of duty campaign simon is not well trained in fire arms this mechanic sets it apart from other games where you play as a random man who has never shot a gun before but can shoot it almost perfectly and has better aim than trained military personal yeah sorry but that's unrealistic you need to learn about fire arms and how to use them efficiently. While i do think the police men you play as in the co-op campaign should save there bullets because there trained to handle a fire arm unlike simon who is a TEENAGER. it's like with the morphine mechanic where if you take too much too soon you can overdose that isn't just to make the game hard that's a realistic outcome. But if losing ammo is so bad for you just play nightmare mode and get the FAMAS an infinite ammo gun then you can use the linear shooter mentality and just hold W M1 like it's pyro from team fortress 2.

everyone told me the same thing about the donations or even the mapping contest (although we can get now the SMG after finished once the game now, it was time). i have the right to find that ridiculously excessive. you have your opinion, and i have mine. Fine. and i am not totally against that discared ammo feature it just should be choosen in the game options.

it has it's flaws, has a lot of lag spikes even with a nice PC, there's a lot of bugs and glitches and enemy problems, I think it's not kinda their fault, since the engine this game was built on is more than 20 years old. But, I wouldn't say it's trash. It's far from being a bad game, or a regular game.
