Soundtrack genre?

So anyone know what the genre of the soundtracks are? ((Besides what the wiki says))

You mean the soundtrack in general, oder just the pieces, which can be considered being music? I'd be saying it's at least influenced by Industrial style (e.g. Mind Maze, which is heavily going into this direction), Jumping Strings, which is the very best song of the game imho, is very close to Silent Hill in terms of style, sadness, depression and dark atmosphere. Honestly, I could not name the music style.

Many pieces are made of noises, sounds, rather calm, yet psycho strings.

If you are interested in the style to finde more music like this, it could be getting quite nasty. Seek for "Silent Hill inspired" music would be the best. Kevin McLeod is making music which is not very similar to the style of CoF, yet it is very psycho and quite often has the same negative mood.
