Cry of Fear 1.7 update

Wouldn't it be cool if cof got an update for it's 10th anniversary in 2022? There are just so many annoying bugs left in the game that need to be fixed.

Team Psykskallar haven't released the source code either. With that the fans could fix the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game themselves.

This mod is just so dead. Kinda sad tbh.

Edit after more than 3 years: Well this post aged like milk. Both UE4 and 1.7 are cancelled. Not sure about the winter campaign tho.

It's been and considered dead since 2013 despite having a few players. Honestly as you said fixing bugs and glitches, there was so much to do with Cry Of Fear. Heck even a follow up with Afraid Of Monsters along siding would have been dope.

sucks so much. At this point should just release the source code to an otherwise free game anyway and allow the fans still around to fix bugs. Either that or maybe give permission to a dev team to make a remake of it in a new engine

no shade at all to the original devs they made a great game but I think we all understand that as time goes on life changes etc so if its not in their books to continue it, release it to the fans to take over

Rumpel really doesn't has resources and any time to work in the game, this is very common and specially in projects with such a good potential, maybe with the past of the time the game will get updated but ANYTHING cant be confirmed, specially after rumpel working on a new album.

Nothing is keeping them from releasing the Source Code so fans can fix and improve the game if they can't or don't have time

If I remember correctly, CoF's source code also contains GoldSrc engine code so it would be illegal to release it or something along those lines

I don't think that is the case, but even if it is, at least add workshop support so community can fix the game that way
