The Sawrunner in the forest

Hello there, it looks like i am not able to get past that sawrunner in the forest section. Where you have to pick up the doorknob and insert it in the door behind the Sawrunner.

I tried like 40 times now and i get frustrated every single time because that guy kills me when I open my inventory. Also tried taking it and put it on a quickslot but key items can't be put on quickslot so.. meh. I also tried the tactic to get the sawrunner stuck in the trees by running in circles but everytime i became the victim that got stuck and died a horrible short death. Yea some drama here.

So me being frustrated with this I ask for some help, is there some trick or thing to do to get past that Sawrunner? I dont want to spend over 5 hours doing that part again and again. It's annoying.

The tactic I used was to run way back away from the house, let him take an attack on me and dodge it at the last second ( Which will get him stuck for a few seconds ) and sprint towards the door, letting him take a hit at me whenever he gets close so that he gets stuck and gives me just enough time to open my inventory and insert the doorknob.

I tried something similar but everytime I managed it to insert the doorknob I die.

I find that at that part sawrunner is very forgiving, given what you have to do, I usually run to the doorknob and then run straight to the door and can do it consistently. Just put the knob in, close your inventory and then spam "E" or whatever your use key is.

Sawrunner is quite an underwhelming enemy. You can get away from him with default walking speed (as long as your stamina is not empty), because he stops when he is about to attack and then swings.

I know that you dont have to sprint to get away from him, walking is fine. Maybe i am just brainless... i dont even know. It does not work for me.

I don't know did you pass it or not but... Sawrunner's spawn trigger is wood panel on the ground. If you don't touch it, you can easily finish the encounter.Be careful about wood panels there is 3 wood panels on the ground. (Be sure your inventory is not full.)

You can also just cross the area walking trought the right limit of the map. that works for me

I managed it to get across. I took the doorknob without touching anything made of wood (panels, branches) and found my way to the door without spawning the Sawrunner. Thank u guys ^^
