There does seem to be a PS Vita emulator with TxK listed as playable.
I know it wasn't Jeff Minter, but it has to come in a collection somewhere, it was a joke..
Okay, it should been in the Atari 50 collection really.
Should it? TxK was published only on Sony platforms and Atari was not involved in any way. It's not part of the Atari history we were telling with this project. Tempest 2000, absolutely part of that story.
I was never the one that mentioned TxK? I was joking about ET being in the Atari 50 collection, as far as taste goes, and i don't know how many more atari games that collection would be missing, but i believe collections should be about containing as much as possible, the good and the bad.
I mean i got 2 Atari Flashbacks (because the later versions got more games added), an Atari VCS and the 50th collection on Steam.
I mean, it is sort of part of Atari history, in the absolute worst possible way.
Exactly.
Tempest 3000 would be great, as the only Nuon emulator is not running fullspeed and will not be developed further after the death of its author. Not sure if I miss TxK as Tempest 4000 is more or less the same game and is still available on all platforms.
Was that on original version from more than a decade ago, or have you tried recent continued developments (to which I wanted to point at when talking to Digital Eclipse as well to keep in mind for the future possibilites considering the open source nature)?
Last build is from this January

They have a bit different flavour, but I agree. The problem with T4K is that now people experience some technical problems (i guess due to newer hardware or win11) but Atari doesn't notice that.
Great, thanks for the info, didn't saw that somebody has picked this up!
I didn't read about much technical problems with Tempest 4000 aside of the game not working on a Steam Deck initially, but when Atari provided Llamasoft with the hardware the issue was fixed.
I am pretty sure I had this game running on Win11, but I am not 100% sure. The Steam forum for the game doesn't list so many issues at the moment.
