FEAR ONLINE will shut down on 13th May 2015 - Reactions?

So we can't say anything on the official note site.

Wondering that there was an official statement and they didn't closed it suddenly like they did several times with their servers in the past...

Messing such a great game with no concept at all!!!

Thanks Aeria for the bad promotion (in the beginning) and no support for the Fear Community (last 4-5 months)...

Hope Steam doesn't support such messy developers with their non-passionate behaviour for such an easy product (like FEAR was) in the future again!!!

My first and last Aeria game - Good Job and thx for wasting that product licence and bringing it to this end!!!

It was no suprise to me. I knew this game will die eventualy no patches not even bothering to make it worldwide avaible, and whats worst its just a Copy/Paste of FEAR 2 Project Origin.
Aeria just proved me they just used this epic franchise just to milk it and then piss on it.

Also to the FEAR Online community next time stop asking for ESL tournaments and tell developers to fix/patch the game. No wonder it died. All you so called pros ever did was beg for ESL. Well there goes your ESL to Hell hope you are prowd.

Last but not least it was fun while it lasted I made some friends in the game and some rivals/enemies. It was a blast playing knife fight and making 30 kills in one life. :)

Fermer un jeu sans raisons détaillées, de plus ce n'est pas la première fois... Comment peut-on aider de telles plateformes tel que Aeria qui profite bien des joueurs qui ont beaucoup donnés mais sans rien en retour quand à la communauté.

Bref mon dernier jeu de Aeria et sans regrets.

First months I really enjoyed this game, but after that, without any support, with all that laggz and no annoucements that game became unplayable. Its really sad, cuz I like people there and probably Ill never play with them again...
I can only hope that someone will buy that licence and do it better.
Shame on you Aeria Games !

And I just installed it today... Then I'll just uninstall it right away. I can't start the game anyway because of the white client. And each time I try to authorise the game I just get the message "treat the URL above as you would with your password".

I've seen the many bad reviews, but I wanted to try it out for myself.

I predicted that this was going to happen. The game was great during the Closed Alpha and Closed Beta. But after the Open beta it just went downhill.

Glad I only payed for $1 desert M4A1 and bloody KAC PDW. So a total of $2 spent on this game. Phew!

No surprise:

- No character creation
- Limited character selection
- Overly priced characters that aren't permanant
- Lack of decent equipement with ingame cash (but not pay to win necessarily)
- Extremely outdated engine
- Zero support

So yeah, of course it will fail. I hope somewhere down the road someone can do a real FEAR Online game.

While this game certainly had it's problems (with updates, lagg, hackers, and such) it was an extreemly fun game to play (once you learned it and practice). I loved the death matches and demolition. Heck I didnt mind most of the hackers cause I could kill. Ill miss the game and all the people. If you see old Grandpaw12 on in the next week, give me a shout bye.

You had a great game here and you took from the fear community. It's like a little social scenario, different people from different parts of the world coming together to have some fun. After a ♥♥♥♥ day at work there was nothing better than shooting the hell out of people you wish were your boss. I will miss the game and a few people I had the pleasure of playing with and against. i un installed it three or four days ago... Almost cried.
