There could possibly be some "easy mode" like the harness, since the harness does not even help these maps anyways.
I was relieved to be able to finally use ropes on the Castle (I don't care much about crampons tbh), was about to complete it, but then I had to leave for a while and now it's all gone again. To be honest, I don't think the wooden beams are any different than not being able to use ropes, at least I didn't feel like I have less ground to cover when I have to start from the beginning over and over again. (Maybe I'm missing something and they can now be used as respawn-checkpoints, I'm not sure?). I understand that there has to be some sort of balance and ultimately, you're the boss, it's your game, so all I'm saying is:
Players who don't want to use ropes at all, could've done so all along.
Those damned fans in Seaside are the only thing that drive me nuts. But it's a good kind of nuts assuming their physics are correct. Sometimes it bounces around a bit but I think I've managed to navigate a way around them by grabbing the center and launching to the next fan. Only downside with this is it requires me to mash the grab buttons (for extra forward momentum) which I feel like might be cheating.
Just a thought. Maybe instead of the fans being physics based, what if they just turn automatically? At a set speed? No weight physics or grab physics. More like the windmill in the original game. Again, only a thought. Then it just comes down to timing and execution of a jump rather than having to worry about the fan physics
It should give a much better middle-ground to people who wanna speedrun the levels or just have an easier time while still keeping the original, intended difficulty.
