Even though I know it's just some sort of placebo effect I felt like the crampons were weighing me down once I got used to not using them, I don't mind all the updates personally though, making it possible for more people is not the worst thing

There could possibly be some "easy mode" like the harness, since the harness does not even help these maps anyways.

Thank you for the quick response to the community! I'll add my final 2 cents then I'll let this topic go.

I was relieved to be able to finally use ropes on the Castle (I don't care much about crampons tbh), was about to complete it, but then I had to leave for a while and now it's all gone again. To be honest, I don't think the wooden beams are any different than not being able to use ropes, at least I didn't feel like I have less ground to cover when I have to start from the beginning over and over again. (Maybe I'm missing something and they can now be used as respawn-checkpoints, I'm not sure?). I understand that there has to be some sort of balance and ultimately, you're the boss, it's your game, so all I'm saying is:

Players who don't want to use ropes at all, could've done so all along.

I agree with most of these balance changes, but I was kind of hoping for more on Seaside. It's the only fundamental that I haven't beaten, and that's 100% because of the cursed fans. I wish they were twisted to be in line with each other, didn't drop you directly in the water, or had some alternate path. The dam is in a good spot I think, as crampons would let you skip upward past several sections too little trouble. I also think the castle's roof path is honestly a bit too easy with how many holds there are and how short it is, but I think what the castle really needs is some time to simmer

It's probably placebo effect but I'm having much more difficulty grabbing the pipes on the Castle post-update ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I'm in favor of no crampons for the maps listed. Roped limited to 10 didn't bother me either. Go with your gut on this one.

Those damned fans in Seaside are the only thing that drive me nuts. But it's a good kind of nuts assuming their physics are correct. Sometimes it bounces around a bit but I think I've managed to navigate a way around them by grabbing the center and launching to the next fan. Only downside with this is it requires me to mash the grab buttons (for extra forward momentum) which I feel like might be cheating.

Just a thought. Maybe instead of the fans being physics based, what if they just turn automatically? At a set speed? No weight physics or grab physics. More like the windmill in the original game. Again, only a thought. Then it just comes down to timing and execution of a jump rather than having to worry about the fan physics

honestly i think its a good call to have disabled crampons again for castle and seaside

i have a bug since the last update, my mouse is no longer locked to my screen, if i have to turn right i end up clicking off the game onto my second monitor.

Disableing crampons is a very good call. I love the game even more on the climbs where crampons aren't allowed. Good work on the DLC, very fun Thank you!

You guys are really making a lot of changes repeatedly. I think it might be a better idea to possibly have a set of crampons that are identical to the crampons used in the base level and have them give you "easy mode" achievements or something of the sort when completing the DLC levels.
It should give a much better middle-ground to people who wanna speedrun the levels or just have an easier time while still keeping the original, intended difficulty.
