How do I do this Massive Leap on Mount Mhorgorm?
Somewhere around 1000-1100m up the this mountain is a massive vertical jump that is too far to use any ropes for safety. Every time I remove my rope and get a good attempt at it, I just narrowly miss it, so I know it's possible. Assuming this is the intended path, I think this jump is brilliant. If Mount Mhorgorm had been throwing a ton of these at me, I'd be more annoyed, but the rest of the mountain has been pretty reasonable so far and this jump is really satisfying to attempt. (I'm primarily using the safety harness since I expected this mountain to be brutal, but it's gotten to the point where I think I could make it all the way to this jump without it).

My problem isn't with the jump itself. I know that if I get a little more boost or get my ice picks out a bit faster, I can make it. My main issue is the fact that I always fall all the way back down to the ~200m range after every attempt. It takes a good long while to get back up there and the repetitive process is starting to get to me (even though I think this jump is cool and I am enjoying this mountain a lot so far).

Is there an alternative path up the mountain that I'm missing or (since I still want to make the jump regardless) is there a consistent way to save myself when I miss the jump?

I don't remember that bit but there are probably holds on some overhangs to the sides or something. take out your spyglass and look around :) if there aren't, it's all about momentum yeah. get a BEEG swing and go

I didn't think I could swing there because there was a rock blocking me to the right, but pulling myself up and to the right, falling down and to the left, then swinging back up was that extra bit of momentum I needed. All of the footage I found was of people doing it first try, so I'm not sure how hard that jump is supposed to be, but I'm glad it's over.

Now I just have to get around to finishing Towering Visir without the safety harness.
