While the code is as you remember it and doesn’t give you 30 extra lives… not exactly.
How to perform the Konami Code in Contra: Operation Galuga
As soon as Contra: Operation Galuga starts up, and you see the massive flaming “C” on the screen, get busy with the Konami Code – Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right B, A, on the Xbox Series X controller, or Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right X, O, on the DualShock 4 and DualSense controllers, and Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right A, B, on the Nintendo Switch Joy-Con and Switch Pro controllers.
In doing so, you will hit a chime sound to acknowledge that you inputted the code correctly.
After that, head to the Perk Shop, and you’ll notice that there’s a medal that wasn’t there before: the “Konami Code.” When purchased, this will give you 30 extra lives instead of the code giving them to you when you input it.
However, this medal costs 7500 credits and will take a while to grind out. It’s up to you to decide if it’s worth it or not, but at least you know how to get the 30 extra lives now.
