$36 for a 2 hour game? Is this a joke?
I will pay $10 maximum. Why are you trying to take advantage of people with this ridiculous price?

It doesn't remotely follow the look/feel/aesthetics of old Contra games. It looks like a 'my first Unity' project you'd throw at some interns to keep them out of your hair. With AI you could generate a project like this in a couple of weeks.

Skipping this one. Wayforward has been a great developer in my eyes so i was sort of looking forward to Operation Galuga and i don't doubt that the game itself isn't good but this is indeed ridiculous with the pricing. Probably a business maneuver from Konami's end. We can always vote with our wallets, friends.
2 hours...like every other contra game? They should have padded this out with slow walking/talking sections or doing the same procedural created mmo style pretend work.

Crap like this is why fitgirl does what she does.

I’d rather blow in a nes case and try to load up the 90s version

RIP up up down down left right left right select start

Yes, games were more absurdly overpriced back in the day. Star Fox 64 was $80 despite being a 1-2 hour game at most.

Nowadays people realize what a ridiculous scam that is and many don't want to pay $40 for a game you can beat in 2 hours.

Ima wait until a price drop for this one.

Inflation sucks. Get used to it. $40 is the new $15

lol

Even in 1992 it was overpriced. Are you seriously comparing prices from 1992 with 2024?
Do you know how much technology has progressed? Do you know these games cane be made in a 1/10th the amount of time it took back in the day?

It boggles the mind how fanboys throw boilerplate phrases like, the game is the same price of a coffee, or that the game cost more when it was originally released or a game is Art.

I worry about the future.

And I got a box, color manual, and physical cart that I could trade, borrow out or sell after I was finished with it. And if you still had your copy of the game with all the things I listed it's actually worth more than $90 now based on sold auctions on Ebay. This isn't the argument you think it is.

The problem isn't that it's a 2-hour game. That's expected for this style of side-scrolling shooter.
The problem is that they're charging $40 for a 2-hour game.

try this ..you will have more joy https://store.steampowered.com/app/598550/HUNTDOWN/
This game is also a really good 2-3 hour side-scrrolling shooter at a reasonable price.

I'll probably play Operation Galuga eventually, but not for $40. That's crazy talk.

... and your point being? Times do change and expectations as well. In former times it was harder / more challenging to program and produce such titles. Not so much today.
Yes, times are changing and stuff is getting more expensive and not cheaper. Welcome to the real world.
Besides, Contra 3 is 30 mins long at best.

Angry much? Good, if things get more expensive, I’ll wait for a discount. You do you ❤️.
