true greed seeks perfection through improvement.
fake greed leads to mediocrity and self-destruction.
so, we can only wait and see what kind of greed is leading them, and hope is the good, true kind.
i just dont even think multiplayer could pan out, there'd just be constant connection errors and unwarranted deaths,
online coop can work:
what cannot work and will have the issues you are describing, is with "online play together" (available right now) or other similar direct streaming approach, because that depends in the local internet speed of each player. i have suffered those issues with broforce, but never with games that include online coop (including fast action and precise games, ie "souls like").
with online coop, the games must sync through a server, which is why only through official or third party servers is possible to play tournaments of fps games, rts and so on.
is not asking much considering the price tag, and that many smaller devs with smaller budgets and resources are still able to offer that, even with smaller price tags.
If one guy can implement online co-op and a save system for it, KONami have absolutely no excuse not to.
