Escaping Innsmouth

I have got off the back of the truck, to pick up the revolver and it doesn't matter HOW hard I try the damned stupid thing will not let me jump to hide behind the net. Consequently it's to the point I can't pass it anymore. Is this a glitch anyone else has experienced?

just jump out of the truck, hit sneak and crouch, back up as far as you can to the left of the truck, and wait a bit for the fishmen to shutup and walk off from the area to the left and right. then get the revolver and head off the left and kill those guys get 2 racks of ammo and proceed back past the truck around the corner to the fish house

Yeah that's what I do, but for some reason on this last few attempts it's like there is a brick wall in front of the area. I've done an install on the new PC I suspect it was more to do with the damaged HD than the game now. Cheers for replying :)
