Possibly a bug, need help [The Air-Filled Tunnels]
Alright, so at the part where you stumble upon the creature in the bubble, with the gong thing, that whole part.
I was controlling one of the creatures. I made sure I hit the gong hard enough with the fully charged alien device. I was very close to the gong, to the point in where I hit it, there was a ringing noise. After that, I went upstairs, killed some of the fishmen, hit the lever opposite of the creature in the bubble that was holding the water in, then went to control one of the fishmen by 'praying' to the creature. I killed the other fishman who spawned with me, because he was attacking me as a fishman, then I went to hit one of the levers, but the lever wouldn't push down. I tried using the attack [left click] button and the action [S] button, and neither of them worked. I tried this with all of the levers. Is this a bug? Is there a fix to this? I really need help. :c
Thanks for any feedback.

See if you're doing everything correctly, according to this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zGHqdEo36So

And according to this post: http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/562603-call-of-cthulhu-dark-corners-of-the-earth/52576444

You need to be as close to the gong as possible when hitting it.

Got to it as close as possible, and it still didn't work.

I have no idea what the responses claiming the possible solutions are asking to do. Also, which solution are you referring to in the thread? And could you explain to me on how to do it? (I apologize for so many requests)

Okay, here is something that might help. Looks like it is a bug after all.

PROBLEM: You can't hit the switches in Hydra's temple.

This seems to happen when there are too many Deep Ones in the chamber and Jack is spawning into one that can't attack the lever. Listed below is a strategy that's proven reliable and the pattern for the spawning Deep Ones before/after the gong is hit.

The pattern should go like this:
1. Initially kill the 4 sorcerers up top.
2. Turn the water on to fill the pool by flipping the switch at the top of the ramp.
3. At this point, kill any Deep Ones that spawn.
4. Shoot the gong at point blank range at full capacity. Head back up.
5. At this point, 2 Deep Ones will be there. Kill them BOTH. Then enter the pool and mindswap. You'll mindswap into a newly spawned Deep One.
6. Jump up and hit one lever (you should only have time enough to successfully hit 1).
7. Kill that particular Deep One when you're back inside your body.
8. Wait for the deafening sound that signals more Deep Ones. 4 will respawn...KILL ALL OF THEM.
Repeat steps 4-8 until all switches are hit.

That's what I've been trying for the past 30 minutes. It doesn't work.

I made a video of me trying to flip the levers. Here's what's happening: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3b4UVDPrps0

Weird indeed. You seem to be doing everything right, unless there were some other Deep Ones around you right before you mindswap...

Try posting your save game, I'll try to get past that part again.

(C:\Users\USERNAME\Documents\Bethesda\Call of Cthulhu for Win 7)

edit: I noticed something else. Right after you mindswap, Jack says "this sound is making my head pound", while in the video I posted above he doesn't. So basically, Jack must be COMPLETELY deaf before mindswapping or it won't work. Your problem is caused by either A) you not killing the Deep Ones fast enough or B) not hitting the gong hard enough. This guy confirms it - http://www.ign.com/boards/threads/temple-of-hydra-switchs-help.121399219/.

I remember having this same problem years ago on a retail copy.

It's definitely a known game bug but iirc it's save-related, something to do with that last save spot in the tunnel before arriving at Hydra's temple corrupting your save if you use it more than once before starting the boss fight (i.e.- saving when you first reach it, then moving forward and interacting with the book/clearing enemies from the fight area, then saving again before starting the fight). Basically, you cannot use that save spot again once you exit the tunnel.

Try loading from a previous save spot (i know, ouch), then once you reach the bugged save spot make sure you only use it once before exiting the tunnel into the temple area, and never again after that.

Hope this helps you, i know it frustrated me immensely at the time.

It was buggy for me even with just one save!
Any fix for this?
