How to operate a safe

Yeah I need help with this, I know how to select the numbers but how do I insert/select them?

Although not sure why when it's the 7th and _about_ the dairy it says "last entry is from yesterday" and then _in_ the diary it says "yesterday was her birthday" which would mean the 5th...
