Game Crashes on Prologue

Ok so I am trying to enjoy this game but I can get as far as the part where you hear a noice coming from another room in the prologue. This is where you walk up to the mirror and you walk into a hidden hallway with a trap door on the right. I walk up to the mirror and the game just crashes.

I tried a suggestion where somebody turned down the resolution and it worked for them and I was able to get to the trap door and hear the man scream before the game crashed.

I can't request a refund at this point, so I could really use a fix if anybody has encountered this crashing issue in this spot before, otherwise I'm out the 2 dollars...

I fixed this issue activating the VSYNC from NVidia's control panel on Windows 10.

Tried this and I crashed just walking into the room where it was happening.

For those still having this problem, set your game to a lower resolution.
I used to crash using 1920*1080@60, I lowered it to 1280*720@60 and it's fine now.

I lowered it to 1280x720 at 60hz and got to the trap door next to the morror and still crashed
