How is that possible? The beginning isn't scary at all. You don't even have to deal with any enemies or danger. You simply can't die)

As for the scary stuff - well, most of it consists of atmosphere of constant danger, you don't know what expects you at the next corner and so on. There are not so many kind of monsters in this game and they can't be considered very scary. The jumpscares are very rare and not so much terrifying. So, the oppressive atmosphere is the main component of the game's scariness)
