Or, if you’re brave enough, you can play in Survivor mode (it removes the music but ups the difficulty).

I thought the audio indicator was really well done, since it is an audio version of the kind of stress you'd feel when accidentally making a noise
Without that you would not have any clue and need to trial and error what exactly constitutes "too loud", which would really suck.
i see! ty for your perspective, i’ve definitely gotta try to this game on a harder difficulty it seems. i did my first playthrough on normal so it’s not instant death if you alert the creature - which kinda made the audio queue redundant to me.
