1. The writing is objectively awful.
2. The game is actually 2-3 hours long, but is artificially lengthen by having to crouch walk through the whole game. No, it does not use this mechanic in any new interesting ways. It is a tedious slog the whole way.
3. Hilarious QTE events.
4. Yellow "hold my hand because I can't think for myself" paint EVERYWHERE.
5. You are killed instantly in a variety of 4-5 cut scene deaths if you get to a certain loudness. No chase mechanics in this game like Alien.
6. All tension is lost after dying OVER AND OVER to ridiculous sound triggers and magnetic AI.
Can't post a review if I don't own it. Since the game looked suspect at a glance, I usually watch playthroughs in such cases. Watched all seven hours of tedious gameplay on a stream. Well, not all, much skipping was done.
I guess you didn't comprehend my post?
I can say Elden Ring looks like a mediocre game after watching someone stream it, that I don’t get what’s so great about it. It’s a game similar to Bloodborne and Dark Souls in an open world game. Wow. Whoopy doo. No originality makes it a boring mediocre game. It’s a modern game with lazy development. Even the dev doesn’t understand why it blew up like it did. It’s just fanboys from the JRPG and people who just think an open game with JRPG is the greatest combo ever. Oh kay? I don’t. It’s nothing new and exciting. It wasn’t that hard to combined the two to make a game.
It’s like Zelda BoTW and the new one. Wow. Again. Nothing original. They took inspiration from Skyrim, which is an open world game, and combined it with Zelda. Wow.
Anyway.
