help: mic icon with a slash

sorry but the game wasn't supposed to detect my microphone and do the creatures hear you if you make noise? I tried changing the difficulty but there's always mic icon with a slash. I wanted to have some fun making myself heard.
Is it a game problem or not? my headphones tested the game

Look into Gameplay options, in there you can toggle your Mic. BTW mic with slash means monsters won't hear you.

I did the initial part where he explains the commands and now I've started the next part where it rains. can you see that there are no monsters nearby or maybe it's because I put the difficulty on easy? if you make noise in all the difficulties you should hear even a little.

if you are still playing in the starting area in the rain where you are exporing the cabin area the mic doesnt work just yet. Youre still in the tutorial area. If you have the settings turned on it will work soon. Essentially during the hospital part

I can explain more but you will get spoilers. Saw this on the radbrad play it last night
