Second I would first simply try restarting Steam sometimes an update comes along and Steam will lock itself up.After that if it still gets stuck you could try changing the server that you D/L from sometimes a particular might be slow or have a problem.Lastly the problem might be on your end or your ISP end.
To change your server go to Steam, settings, dowonloads&cloud you might also want to make sure that you have the correct connection speed chosen.I sometimes change my download region as a few servers are within a few hundred miles of me and in my case the one in Atlanta is faster than the one in Miami even though Miami is closer than Atlanta for me Atlanta is much faster.
I suppose if all of those fail and your connection is ok you could try going to the downloading folder in your Steam files and delete all of the data there but that will mean starting the D/L all over again so you should try that last.
My guess is that either restatring Steam or changing your server location will get it going.
Good to hear that it worked for you anyway I was just shining you on a little with the xbox hours.I think that Steam when you first set it up picks what it determeines is the best server based on your ISP address and picks the closest one which may not be the fastest in every case.
My D/L times got halfed easily just by changing servers.I find that the D/L rate on the Atlanta server is much more consistant while Miami is very sporadic most likey becuase the server is twice as busy there are as many people in Florida as in most near by states put together.
