Try as I might but Morrowind looks a bit dated to me, I mean I can play fallout 3 just fine and still enjoy what I'm saying. I'm not sure I'll feel the same with Morrowind.
I didn't play that too long ago, and yet I can only still remember the quest with that redguard woman in whiterun... all the others are gone from my memory. But if you mention oblivion, I remember the quest "whodunit" (best quest of all time, period), the graveplundering merchant, the death of Valen Dreth, the skooma addict in the elven district, the grey prince's ancestry, a certain ring that was REALLY heavy in a well, etc. And then I havn't even mentioned the quests from the shivering isles expansion (which is more like a new game than a simple expansion). And I remember all these moments from a single playthrough I made years ago. Currently making a second playthrough that I play every now and then after getting tired of skyrim, and loving it.
One hint that I will freely give is that you should wait till you reach Level 12, or maybe even Level 18, before starting any of the major quests. That way the quests are more challenging and the rewards are much greater for a true hero or villan.
If you have GOTY or better, save the Knights of the Nine for after you get tired of having a high infamy.
There are mods out there that make Morrowind look better than vanilla Oblivion.
Check out the 'Morrowind Sound and Graphics Overhual'.

Oblivion is easily better than Morrowind or Skyrim. Nostalgia flatters Morrowind while Skyrim is one-dimensional compared with Oblivion.
