The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Game of the Year Edition (2009)

Did anyone else enjoy Oblivion more than Skyrim?
I personally enjoyed Oblivion more than Skyrim for a few reasons.
1.) Oblivion's bright, kinda cartoony graphics make the world feel a little more fantasy-like, than Skyrim's more realistic graphics, that aren't super great without a high-end pc and various graphics mods.
2.) Oblivion's story is WAY better than Skyrim's. In Oblivion I go running through various dimensions killing crazy cultists and demonic Daedra, while blowing Oblivion gates, and constantly thinking of fun ways to kill the Annoying Fan over and over again.
3.) The Shivering Isles beats every Skyrim DLC combined, has Sheogorath, and CHEESE!!!

Dude, Consoles. Think before you speak. Also, pull your head outta your ass and dont be a ♥♥♥♥.

sure, again, why are you even here discussing it. If you own it on console you have no right to talk about the PC version which can be heavily modded to your liking... unlike the console version
Technically this thread is just about Oblivion and Skyrim, it doesn't say "Did anyone else enjoy COMPUTER Oblivion more that COMPUTER Skyrim.

Also, this is posted on the oblivion forum, rendering your point moot easily. You keep being an idiot, and I cant help ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ on you for it. The steam forums are for discussion of a game in general, not specific platforms. You simply see less console discussion because there are a lot of PC elitists.

And so another interesting thread is added to the ever growing list of casualties of the flame war.

Sorry, I just have to deal with enough idiots at work, It is even worse when people are blatantly ignorant and instead of being willing to learn from someone more knowledgable, they cling to ignorancy. Also, he is gonna act like an ass, I'm gonna treat him like one.

That this forum is exclusive to PC games is implicit. Steam is exclusively a PC delivery system. Your functional illiteracy is neither a "technical" point of order, nor a shortcoming on the part of others.

Now kindly return to your cheap knockoff of a gaming system, and the forums with lots more pictures than words devoted to such things. Console trolls for the lose.
Pc Elitists for making me wish for the apocalypse! Pull your head out your ass and realise that the steam forums are accessible from a webbrowser, and as such accessible from at least 2 of the consoles currently out, as well as portal 2 having steam interaction with consoles, therefore your jackass self can go cry in the nobody likes me corner.

I think things are a bit more "spoon fed" to you in Akyrim than in Bblivion. I just found Skyrim much easier than Oblivion therefore less fun. Also, the main quest line in Skyrim was REALLY short. I only spent a few hours on Skyrim while it took me nine hours to do Oblivion's main campaign on the easiest difficulty because I had already played through it twice before. I love both games but Oblivion was much more enjoyable to me.

Thank you. 1. For actually saying something that has to do with the thread, and 2. for saying what I was thinking.

This is a good point, in general I feel like everything I get in Skyrim is being given to me rather than having to earn it.

i agree wtih "you play the most out of the one you were introduced to first." although my generation was technically morrowind i never knew it existed. i was introduced to oblivion first and was instantly hooked. i remeber dying by the rats in the tutorial (ahh good times) but if you look at it from far away bethesda made these games to be their own kind of game. not so much to compete with one another but to give a brand new experience to the players. i think they are all good in their own way.
oblivionis my favorite Elder Scrolls. Sorry Morrowind, close second

Morrowind was the best game, very old, but it has soo much content, and with out the instant travel it forced yo too explore.....The Shivering isles is the best dlc, amusing, interesting and unique....especially for RPGs

I've put 140+ hours into skyrim and I am playing a new data but for some reason Oblivion has me engrossed so much at the moment. Maybe it's hype from the anthology coming out Online coming out but for now I can only play skyrim in small doses while oblivion has me playing nonstop xD
