The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Game of the Year Edition (2009)

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Game of the Year Edition (2009)

Super slow download
Ok, so I know this isn't as much as a problem as other people's, but after last night I must've uploaded about 30+ mods to oblivion, so much so I was dipping below 50FPS on highest settings.
So I decided to remove oblivion completely and reinstall the game, after this it has been downloading REALLY slowly. It use to be about 10% every 20mins now it's dropped off to like 5% every hour. Someone please help?

Try power cycling your router / modem.
Thanks I'll give it a go.
Nope nothing, also I forgot to mention that 75% of the time the KB notifier is empty, like next to the name of the game you're downloading. The first time I installed the game (which was only 2 days ago) Installed within 2 hours, now I'm 4 hours in and it's only on 17%.

I'm patient and if I have to, I'll wait but this is worrying.

Wow, guess I must be spoilt then, last time I down loaded the core game, took a little over 15 mins !

Anyway, if you are running wireless, then try running a cable. Other than that, it may be down to either your ISP, or the tariff you are on. A lot of the ISP's have a "fair use policy" of some descrition written into the small print.

Baiscally if you download X amount during "peak" hours they will restrict your bandwidth for a period of time etc...
You downloaded Oblivion in around 15 minutes? Awesome.

Anyway I'll try running cable and if that doesn't work, I'll call up Steam support.
Also, I have tried chaning my download region, nothing happend.
Thanks for the help regardless :)

Yeah took more than 15 mins but less than 20.

On a side note, when you power cyle your router / modem, unless you have a static IP address (most ISP's charge an extra fee for this) then you should leave the power off for more than 8 minutes, that way you'll be allocated a different IP address, any less and it will just continue on the one you had before.

This goes for most but not all ISP's.

Well my guess is it's peak times where I live (3:30) so I think I'll have to wait until early morning to get a good download speed rate.
