Controller supported?
I wonder if Oblivion supports the xbox controller, can anybody tell me?

First of all, why would there be any abuses about consoles being better than PC and vice versa? Each gamer chooses his path on his own, relax.

Second of all, I was playing Oblivion on PC for a month (love dem 'ol gamez) and to play with controller I needed third-party stuff. So I created an Oblivion controller support preset[www.rewasd.com] , and it saved my day. As this thread is older than ((ummm)) my Blizzard account, I don't expect a lot of emotions, but I really hope this will help out some wanderer! (:

Hey there, sorry I'm really, really new to PC gaming. Where is controller options located at?

Oblivion's pc port doesn't have any support for controllers, you can plug it in and might make your character walk around at most, but it's completely out of use and not configurable from the game itself, you can try using proggrams like Joy to Key or such, but the most confortable way is just with the keyboard and mouse.

But that removes the point of it being a PC GAME version.

ah no it doesen't it's just a control schem that MAKES SENSE to ME over a keyboard and mouse why would i limit my movment to 4 directions and the mouse with Elder scrolls & Big Blue Box Titles even at maxe sensitivity is actually less accurate than controller based systems + i can react FASTER with a controller because of the fewer buttions than i can with all my vital controls spread out over a 14 inch or so area and even THEN I hit the wrong key.

Your jokeing right ? shooting arrows ? fire balls ? sord - shield ? mace ? how about a 8- way directional toggle stick other than 4 friggan keys ? try pinnacle game profiler . they have a really good premade profile for this game . really essiental software for anyone who has a pc and games on it . playing far cry 1 with a xbox one or 360 controller is wayyyy better than key and mouse . poor development and lazyness . thats why and the only reason why there is not better dual toggle controller support for pcs. all that is needed is afew extra sliders to adjust for the one that is mapped to look and the mouse keyboard twitch bs would gp out the window . seperate adjustments for acceleration and espically zoomed and or scoped is all it would take . and yes moving Still kind of sucks even with that software in pc oblivion BECAUSE its just 4 keys down from 8 . running around like a mad kajitt is now more like some tard that needs a helmet but it still beats the key and mouse .

Next time you want to buy a game take a look on google to see if it's compatiable with a controller. There is a big list on wikipiedia, Oblivion isn't on the list.

Or just come to posts like this, who knows, maybe someone will come with a solution eventually

well im not sure about the xbox 360 controller but i have just mapped the logitech f310 controller to perform just like the ps3 version of oblivion did. the only difference is the shift to walk feature which i used for "B" button and start for the inventory if that makes sense. anyways logitech hase a good profiler software for their controllers makes things interesting if that helps. i herd xpadder might work to map the xbox 360 controller. well anyways im having fun playing oblivion for pc on a controller..peace:steammocking:

Mouse and Keyboard will never ever be as fluid as using a gamepad. It's far slower and just isn't made for intense gameplay. Moving with WASD then having run with left shift is a god awful system put in most games. when using a controller you move with one finger (well your thumb) as oppose to using 4 fingers. The camera movement on a mouse is just nothing compared to using your thumb on an analog stick. I could go on...k+m controls are just god awful in comparison when trying to do certain action simultaneously (unless the gamepad support itself sucks, or the controller isn't compatible). The plus side is you get mods tho but honestly trying to play with keyboard and mouse is soul destroying and not fun at all

using the keyboard and mouse is great for gaming. it is better than controllers. I was a console gamer till 11/11/11. I'd much rather have a keyboard and mouse over any controller ever made to date, perhaps one day they will make a controller to compete with keyboard and mouse but it hasn't happened yet. I play games like darksiders, castlevania that give controller layouts instead of keyboard and mouse and still choose keyboard and mouse over my 360 controller. really only game that works better wiyth controller is dark souls and that is because of the incompetence of the developers who did a very bad job porting the console game to pc. games with no mouse support at all I use the controller on but only because I require keyboard+mouse to game. keyboard and mouse > controller. controller < keyboard and mouse. I think all games should be made to work with keyboard and mouse and controller just to give the consumer more features and better options of how they want to control their characters.:Rubber_Duck:

also keyboard and mouse is so much more smoother than controller.

rudest comment and for no reason. please learn how to have a civil conversation.

if they were gonna add controller support they would have done it by now. also consoles have conttrollers and controllers were meant for consoles, pc was meant for keyboard and mouse. consoles are great and so are pc. people that want a controller should buy a console. this game is on 360 and works very well with a controller on that platform. this game was ported perfectly for pc with amazing keyboard and mouse support and I am so very happy it doesn't have controller support because that means they took that time to get keyboard and mouse support done right. I am now unsubbed from this conversation. :falkwreath::riften::whiterun:

Well the game isn't as perfect as you're picturing it, but I agree it is a great game, even though it should have support for all the consoles it released on, for mere logic, but something went wrong and they had to cut it off, causing discussions like this to exist.
