How to remove negative (red) influence on stats?
Hey guys, so needless to say, I didn't get the ring from the damn mage before reading out the scroll of REVERSE INVISIBILITY. Now my luck is down to 18, and that's very bad for any character, particular a Thief.

I've been slowly trying to bring up Luck back to 60 (original value), but then number remains to be red nonetheless. Is there a way to turn it back to normal (black) again?

Either drink a potion/use a spell of restore attribute (luck, in this case) or go to one of the chapels and activate the altar to get your stats restored. Note that you can only use the altar if your fame is greater than your infamy.

Yeah you need to use a Chapel Alter to get your stats restored. You can also use a restore spell or a potion that restores luck if you have it. For the Chapel you should do a quick save before you use it because sometimes it doesn't remove the problem. Just reload until it restores your stats.

Yep, but forget the Chapel Alter if you like to play a bad guy/girl. It will take quite a while for you to atone for your sins. :D

^^^Indeed. My infamy is like 50 at the moment, with fame being 8 LOL. Alter is no option for me.

This sucks, I guess I'll have to keep finding / buying potions / spells.

What if I cast a disepel on myself? Will that get rid of the effect?

Unfortunately, no. Dispel only removes spell effects that are currently affecting you (so if you were under the effect of drain luck, then it would work). In this case the damage has already been done.

Right. So doesn't matter how high I restore the value to, it will ALWAYS be red, for good?

No, your luck just got a 50 point hit due to the spell. Until you restore all those 50 points, it's going to be red, but after that it'll return to normal.

This is why altars are extremely useful, since they restore all attributes by 200 points with a single use, while the strongest restore attribute potions restore just 20.

Heh, you cannot even wear the Knghts of the Nine armor.

If you can't use a Chapel Alter because of your infamy I suggest creating your own spell at the spellmaking altar at the Arcane University. If you don't have access.. get it lol. Then create a spell for the stat you are having a problem with or for all the stats.

I usually only use custom spells so regualr spells don't clutter my spell list. Of course you have to buy one spell in order to be able to create a custom spell with that ability. I usually buy the cheapest spells in the line and just skip past the few low level spells I had to buy to get to my custom spells.

Just create a custom spell, Restore LUCK 3 for 5 seconds. I would make one for all the attributes, but luck, strength, and endurance are the most important ones imo. I always make sure endurance isn't impaired before sleeping to level up because it will probably affect your HP increase on leveling.

If you have GOTY Deluxe, you can go to your lair at Frostcrag to create enchantments instead of doing the whole Mage Guild queststhing to get access to the Arcane University. But you will have to stock Frostcrag with the Candles for the Altars which is sold at Three Brothers Trade Goods in Imperial City

Thats the only time I had to use additem f 100000.

Yeah, that's the problem with the DLC lairs, you have to have a ton of gold to stock them.
That's why I like Rolling Hills Manor from: http://oblivion.nexusmods.com/mods/43603/ .
All it takes to get ownership is a short quest. It already comes pre-stocked with enchantment orbs along with all kinds of other nifty items.. The big plus with Rolling Hills is that it is not laggy like some of the other mod abodes.

Yeah I'm running GOTY edition (non-deluxe). I heard later on, there are ways to reset infamy to "0", so I'm not terribly worried about not being able to wear Knights of the 9 armor.

I think the console command is: SetPCInfamy 0

Yeah that is how i used to do it, but it is much easier doing those quests then farming up 3-4k as a new starting character for a magetallow candle that is better spent elsewhere.

I usually like to use the limited gold I have in the beginning to save up for Gauntlets of Gluttony which is a huge boost in Strength and is very durable. Strength 15 at level 1 is considerable. It helps do more damage and increases your carrying capacity.

Having the ability to create spells to train magic at low mp cost in the early levels is vital to speeding up the leveling process that doing the quests are more efficient to me since you will need to do the quests at some point anyways to complete the guild quests.

I have to have a spellmaking altar ASAP to make spells such as Fortify Personality 60 and Mercantle 75 for 2 seconds to invest in shops and get the most value out of the gold I have and the sellables I come across as a new character. Also having Fortify Armorer 85+ for the unbreakable hammer perk is a must.
