Forever run
Does anyone have a problem where enabaling caps lock as run does not make him run unless I actually press and hold the caps lock button? Any idea what the issue might be?

There are three keys for movement. The first one toggles between always walk or always run, one is autorun and the last is a toggle key which makes the first one I mentioned do the opposite.

If you have it set to always walk, the toggle key makes you run while held down. If you have it set to always run the toggle key makes you walk while held down.

It sounds like you have the hold to run/walk command bound to capslock instead of autorun.

It's 5am and I haven't been to sleep yet so I hope that makes sense.

I am having this issue right now and it is driving me crazy. You mention toggle keys above but I feel like I have tried everything and W still makes it run, SHIFT-W still makes it walk. Help?

Look at the control options.

Always Run: this key bind is to toggle between always run on and always run off which is basically always walk.

Run: this key bind will manually do the opposite of what always run is set to. If you have always run on then pusing this key will make you walk while you hold down the button. If you have Always Run off then the Run key will make you run while it is held down and walk when you release it.

Auto-move: This command basically makes you move automatically without pressing anything. Depending on what Always Run is set to Auto-move will either make you automatically run or automatically walk.

Hope this clears things up.

I have Always Run set to CAPSLOCK, Run to C, and Auto-Move to Left CTRL.

I understand what you are saying; however I have gone into the control options and reset the controls to the default (I prefer them rather than setting my own). The issue still exists where when I press W the character runs. When I hit SHIFT-W the character walks. Just the opposite of what the controls indicate in the control options. I therefore believe that it has to be something with the keyboard and not the game because the control options have been reset. It is completely driving me crazy.

"The issue still exists where when I press W the character runs. When I hit SHIFT-W the character walks. Just the opposite of what the controls indicate in the control options."

That is how it is supposed to work.

If you have Always Run set to the ON position, The Run key (SHIFT in your case) will make the character walk. You have to set Always Run to OFF in order for the Run key to actually run when you press it. It does the opposite of what Always Run is set to as I mentioned in my previous post.
I had this problem in skyrim, but it was my perception, i didn't realize i had always run on and thought he was always walking when in fact he was always running,

Remember, its a run, not a sprint ;)

Thank you both; however I do not have Always Run on. It is OFF. And yet W runs and SHIFT-W walks. Anyway - I appreciate the help and I will adapt.
