how did they get it to work with the xbox?
Just roam in safe places to get the feel of it, and avoid combat until you start to get the feel of it. If you are used to controllers, then sure, keyboard for movement may feel clumbsy at first, but once you get used to it, mouse for looking around > analogue stick every time IMO.
1. because it's a trackball that is huge and not thumb controlled
2. i wouldnt have to waste so much space for a large mouse pad that really has no purpose otehr then to make something glide and have the optical react properly
3. its just more comfortable... you look at all the peripherials for gaming like headsets and gaming mice... they're all designed to be comfortable.... what's more comfortable then not having to move your hand all over the place?!?! large headphones with huge padding... mmo mice with so many buttons by the thumb... able to change the weights in mouses.... pads with nice surfaces for smooth action...
it's ridiculous the amount of mouse pads you can find for gaming.... dolla dolla bills y'all.... companies lose that with a trackball....
all the bs you find in forums asking questions about gaming trackballs that don't exist.... all this bs that trackballs are inferior.... i watched a LoL competition last month where one of the competitors was using a trackball!!!
not trying to hijack this thread, but it just seems that 2K went thru a 'no gamepad support for our pc games...' phase when they put the same game on consoles with gamepads only....
this game
bioshock 2
and probably others im missing around the same time period.
the crap they put in the readme txt didn't do anything to make the right thumbstick move the camera...
The only advice I can offer is use the in game key custimations to put the things that you use the most or find the hardest to reach in a game onto keys that suit you more (I generally remember the keys that I change the most)
In the years gone by, I originaly struggled to get used to gamepads from joysticks ! That said, I think I have probaly racked up the most hours on gamepads these days.
@ Post above RE: track-ball, I have always been interested in trying them, thinkd me might get a reasonally priced one and give it a go.
