Picture won't show.
I just purchased and installed the game, but it just won't work right. The new game starts, the cinematic plays, then the screen goes black. I still have the HUD, the controls still work, and I can hear the dialogue, but no picture shows up on screen. Somebody please help me figure this out.

Hmm, is your video driver up to date?
Please post your system specs and OS, I have seen a few posts about issues with Oblivion on Windows 8.

Dissable Anti-Aliasing in the launcher options menu (you may want to also dissable HDR Lighting while you'rre there, up to you)

I don't know whether my video driver is up to date of not, but I am capable of playing Skyrim on this laptop with no problems at all.

Then it's most likely a problem with Oblivion. I don't know if you have tried it yet but you should re-install it or check for corrupted files.
It's very important to have your graphics card up to date, you should check for its latest driver.
Have you tried shutting down programs running in the background? Oblivion tends to crash or freeze because of them. Good luck! (Forgive my bad English)

Again, Dissable Anti-Aliasing in the launcher options menu (you may want to also dissable HDR Lighting while you'rre there, up to you).

I reinstalled it and disabled Antialiasing and the game started working. Thanks guys. I appreciate the help.
