Don't worry the last thing Sony would allow is modding. XD
I remember back in PSP days those MagicGate memory cards. Complete rip-off when one considers the price of SD and MicroSD cards. One thing Nintendo really did well with the 3DS.
Or my case even before I have finished it because of my impatience. :-P
You know why this game has lasted long enough for you to find it here, like it, and want ot play it on another platform? The mods.
If it weren't for mods then no-one would still be playing it 9 years later - I mean, how many people are playing GTA III and its spin-offs today? Or even GTA IV? Far Cry2? All amazing games of their times, but basically dead now while Oblivion, Fallout 3/NV, even *Morrowind* are still going strong.
Very true, but long story short modding allows you playing the game in different ways.
Oh, I know. I'm not knocking your desire to play on another platform. Just pointing out that the reason this game is a gem that you would *want* to port to another platform is the ability to mod it.
I know this was posted a long time ago, but I still want to throw it out there -Yes modding is important, but for many reasons. Mods aren't all about pretty visuals and such. Not that visuals are a bad thing.
I had Oblivion for Xbox 360, and it was bugged to hell. Seriously, for a game as amazing as it is, the bugginess of it seriously ruins it, breaks it in some places. Modding allows fixes, and the modding community has done very well. Which is partially why Oblivion did so well overall, because of the ability to mod. It's why I bothered to re-buy the game on Steam.
So, no, while Oblivion doesn't *need* mods, not being able to mod definitely hinders the game.
To the OP - it's not exactly a bad idea, and there's nothing wrong with wanting a game to come to many different platforms, it's just that I don't see it happening.
The game is old, and the devs have all but abandoned it and moved on to other things. They're not likely to come back and port the whole thing to a new platform, considering it would cut into the time they spend on ESO.
Basically, your idea is good, but don't hold your breath.
