Oblivion for PlayStation Vita?
Okay, before the PC Nazis jump all over me, let me remind you this is a PERSONAL OPINION! Anyways, one day i noticed that the hardware specs of the Vita match the minimum of Oblivion, and i thought "what if it came to the Vita?" i know, its just a portable, but the Vita is very powerful and im almost sure it could handle a game like Oblivion. just look at games like Uncharted on the Vita, let alone Killzone. the Vita needs more killer-apps in its library, and i think Oblivion is definitely a great nominee for a port if Bethesda or some other dev could pull it off
jic if you still dont get it, this is only a personal opinion and im not forcing this to happen

Won't happen, but you could start a petition if you really want it.

I like my Vita the way it is, even with the Playstation network issues with my CC. I would not want to play Oblivion on my Vita, since I don't normally do long play sessions with handhelds. Also, vanilla Oblivion I would not even poke with a stick... :P Forget modding with the Vita, since that would force me to buy 10 or more 32GB sticks.. I already filled up 2 x 32GB sticks already...

Don't worry the last thing Sony would allow is modding. XD

I remember back in PSP days those MagicGate memory cards. Complete rip-off when one considers the price of SD and MicroSD cards. One thing Nintendo really did well with the 3DS.

the biggest problem with elder scrolls games on consoles is the lack of modding. if you finnish the game, you'll want to mod the living **** out of it.

Or my case even before I have finished it because of my impatience. :-P

*sigh* is modding REALLY that improtant for a game like Oblivion? :/

Well they did manage to get a working port of Borderlands 2 on the vita so I don't see why not.

You know why this game has lasted long enough for you to find it here, like it, and want ot play it on another platform? The mods.

If it weren't for mods then no-one would still be playing it 9 years later - I mean, how many people are playing GTA III and its spin-offs today? Or even GTA IV? Far Cry2? All amazing games of their times, but basically dead now while Oblivion, Fallout 3/NV, even *Morrowind* are still going strong.

Very true, but long story short modding allows you playing the game in different ways.

Oh, I know. I'm not knocking your desire to play on another platform. Just pointing out that the reason this game is a gem that you would *want* to port to another platform is the ability to mod it.

I know this was posted a long time ago, but I still want to throw it out there -Yes modding is important, but for many reasons. Mods aren't all about pretty visuals and such. Not that visuals are a bad thing.
I had Oblivion for Xbox 360, and it was bugged to hell. Seriously, for a game as amazing as it is, the bugginess of it seriously ruins it, breaks it in some places. Modding allows fixes, and the modding community has done very well. Which is partially why Oblivion did so well overall, because of the ability to mod. It's why I bothered to re-buy the game on Steam.
So, no, while Oblivion doesn't *need* mods, not being able to mod definitely hinders the game.

To the OP - it's not exactly a bad idea, and there's nothing wrong with wanting a game to come to many different platforms, it's just that I don't see it happening.
The game is old, and the devs have all but abandoned it and moved on to other things. They're not likely to come back and port the whole thing to a new platform, considering it would cut into the time they spend on ESO.
Basically, your idea is good, but don't hold your breath.

False. I still play vanilla oblivion and enjoy it. The year is 2025.
