The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Game of the Year Edition (2009)

A horse is missing in the game :(
When I used fast movement, the horse was always near me, or it was in the nearest stable. But after a while, I noticed that such a message stopped appearing. And the horse itself is not near me if I teleport somewhere outside the cities. For example, to the caves. Where could she have gone? The news of her death did not come up. And I always left the horse itself at the entrance to the cave, or at the entrance to the Ayleid ruins.

My horse was killed while I was in a cave, my own fault for not checking for nearby enemies before I went in (for example by trying to wait). I do not remember seeing a message informing of this. When I came out and the horse was not by the entrance, I ran around in increasing circles and eventually found the body. Felt very sad: I was fond of that horse.

It's so sad. Could you tell me how far away your horse's body was?

I don't remember exactly sorry. Far enough that I couldn't see it from the entrance. I think it was uphill, low in some grass or bushes. It was at Hrotanda Vale Ayleid site. There's a lot of rocks and vegetation, so the search took a while. I hope you find out what happened to the horse you had!

Unfortunately, my horse is already dead. At least that's what the statistics of the game say. I bought 0 horses, but there should be 1. I had to rebuild the whole puzzle in order to understand exactly when my horse could go to the barn.
What I did. I loaded up from the moment where my horse is still alive. And I began to complete the quests that I had completed before the loss of the horse. To be more precise, until the last save. And so, when I used a quick transfer to the Molag Bal shrine, I noticed that my horse did not teleport with me. After that, I went back to the previous point, and at that time my horse was walking towards the Corolla, where it was attacked by a bear, which, in theory, would kill it.
But, since I was doing the Molag Bal quest, I did not notice that my horse was not near the sanctuary. So, I dare say she went to the stable while I was doing the quest, after which she died somewhere. But the catch is that I walked all the way from the sanctuary of Sanguine (the same place where my horse went towards Corolla) to Corolla. By going two different ways. And during this adventure, I found two bears that could have killed her. But I didn't find a corpse near the bears. As well as the route from the sanctuary of Sanguine to Corolla. I even had to check out Coroll's stable and his neighborhood. Also nothing.
And so I have three options left. The first one is to try to follow the route from the Molag Bal sanctuary to the Corolla. Second: look carefully in the bushes and in the grass, as you can easily miss it there. And the third variation is that my horse was heading not to Coroll, but to Bravil. Because I don't remember exactly where I bought it.
The fallback option would also be one that would involve killing the bear in advance in order to find out exactly which route my horse was following. For if you kill a bear during a skirmish, the horse will simply stand still.

When I was bothered about regular horses, I'd use Dude Where's my Horse?[www.nexusmods.com] One of the first mods for Oblivion. Simple and effective. Now, IF I need to use a horse, I use Shadowmere, which is invincible and also re-spawns back at the Fort if she runs off.

Yes, I've heard about it and already downloaded it. But the problem is, until I get on the horse, I won't know where it is. And as I understand it, Shadowmere is issued after completing all the quests of the dark brotherhood.

I've lost more horses to my horse forgetting about me than i have to them getting killed (Though i dont use horses often, use Shadowmere when I do as soon as i can, and fast travel a whole bunch). It seems if you fast travel to different points back to back without getting back on your horse, your horse sometimes abandons you and returns to it's point of origin. For purchased horses that is often their stable of origin, for Shadowmere it's fort farragut, if i recall right prior mabel's horse returns to the priory stables but i almost never use that one.

Doesn't hurt to check if the horse returned to wherever you first got it from, but if you can't find it there either than you might be right about it getting itself murdered. If you can't find the body, best you can really do is either use the reload where its not dead yet or go get a different horse. Don't worry too much though, horses are relatively cheap in the grand scheme of things.

I know. But I got so attached to her. It is very sad that she is no longer with me :(

Mine got killed offscreen idk how too.

I had a Black armored horse. Some time ingame the message "Your horse has been stabled outside city" stopped appearing when i fast traveled and horse was no longer fast traveling with me.

Yes, that's what I had!

I read the sadness over the dead horses and I remember that every time one of my horses has died, it was usually me screwing around with the spellmaking altar and crashing the game (and in one case, blacking out a PS3) and using them as ah, test subjects.
