The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Game of the Year Edition (2009)

All NPC Dialogue in game cuts out half a second early.
So, just got the GOTY Deluxe edition and thought I'd jump back into an old favourite. Only, in the cell at the beginning, all dialogue lines from the folk in the cell opposite end's maybe one or two words early. I've tried removing and re-adding V-Sync (with no success in either on or off mode). I've also tried going to the community and installing the Unofficial Patch with no success.

I know there's a known issue with sound channels making NPC's silent, but that's not what this is. Can hear them fine, but they cut off early, then start the next line and do the same thing. Again and again.

Any help would be truly appreciated!

It's probably codec issue? This game has some problems regarding to that I've heard. Never had them myself though.

I found reddit post that had same problem you do, does not offer fix it seems but I'm giving link anyway.

Ah, thanks for the note. If nothing else it means I'll keep playing to find out if it's just him. If it is, that's no biggie. I just assumed it was going to be everyone so gave up after I couldn't fix it. And Happy Birthday! ;)

Uncapped fps is also a possible reason

And we have a winner! This comment and a quick google led me to this post:

In which, first response tells you how to lock frame rate to your monitor refresh rate (at least with nvidia cards, I assume the same can be done for others). And now I can hear his entire dialogue! Time to get adventuring!

Oh yeah, Bethesda games don't like if fps goes over 60. Engine related thing
