Yes Oblivion save data is backed up in the cloud as long as it is enabled. Morrowind also supports it.

However if anyone uses your account or your computer you should be aware that Oblivion has a small problem with the Steam Cloud. It is nothing major and shouldn't be a problem, but everytime you turn on your computer and log into Steam whether you have played Oblivion or not Steam Cloud will always perform a sync and sometimes it takes a while.

So you might have to disable Steam Cloud sync when you stop playing Oblivion, then re-enable it when you are ready to play again.

Oh thank you. Dark Souls has that problem too. Everytime i log into Steam Dark Souls always performs syncing. And it usually takes 30 sec or so.

Yes you can enable it but some mods may ♥♥♥♥ it up. You can always just take the actual savefiles from the oblivion folder and back it up that way.

I can't seem to save it to the cloud. I saved a game on my desktop computer, have steam cloud enabled, but can't load it on my laptop...

I'm not fond of the Steam Cloud, tbh, I prefer either backing up my saves to an external HD (you can get really nice, highly portable ones for around £40) or using Dropbox - you don't need to copy every single save, if space is an issue (although you can get a pretty decent amount of space on Dropbox for free).

Hi, i am moving between 2 different locations, where i got a PC at both places.

Yesterday ive started to playing heavily modded Oblivion (Heartland Redux).

Now i am back at my main place and ive realized that my save games are not present on the current (2nd) machine.

I thought i was clever enough to back up files from "Documents\My Games\Oblivion\Saves" but as i can see now, there is only "steam_autocloud.vdf" file which has size of just 1kB.

So my question is, where are the actual save files located? Does these mods use different location for save files?

Thanks for any advice.

game has been saving for me since 2006 in
Documents\My Games\Oblivion\Saves
on win me, 7, 10, and now 11.

to view your saved files in the steam cloud
click on steam help -> steam support -> my account ->data related to account
scroll down to uploaded content section then steam cloud

Yeah i know about the default saves location.

I was just wondering if after modding that game it might be the case that save files are located in a different folder?

I cant find any info about this topic regarding this specific mod pack... :/

game save files end in .ess

search your drives for files that end in .ess
