The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Game of the Year Edition (2009)

HELP: Ghost Ship of Anvil
Stuck on this quest in Anvil. So far I beat 1 of the Ghost Sailor's. When I've gone down to the lower deck of ship, I'm confronted with other two ghosts. I cast my Ancestoral Guardian, and I have a Silver Claymore with 5 damage. I have some potions for health, endurance, shield, etc. I try casting Absorb health, and Drain health Fighting both ghosts. I have played mission now for probably 20 times... I get the two ghosts down to so very little health for either, or sometimes both, but they always manage to kill me.

do they fire Frost, or Shock?

I suggest saving your game then just run inside and grab the crystal ball and run back out. If you die or get trapped by a ghosts reload until you can exit safely.

Once you make it out of the ship Quicksave your game and reload. IF the game autosaves just load that. Sometimes enemies that are following you will be trapped in the zone if you reload an autosave. It doesn't always work though and I can't remember if it worked on these ghosts.

If it doesn't work the quest NPC can help you. She is essential until you complete the quest so she won't die. Try to kill the ghosts with her help. If it is still to hard run towards the city guards and they will help you.

The townsfolk will help you too, but be careful because the ghosts are strong and might kill NPC's. Try not to get anyone killed. If you do you can always reload your save.

To be honest the amount of health they give you in oblivion is not suited for higher difficulties. Increase your health a tad by using console key ~ AKA (TILDE) then typing
player.setav health # <------------------------Number of health you wish to have. From my experience i couldn't go past 25000 but you pick the number you wish. Good Luck

MY GOD... Just make yourself a God... I would have the health, and just punch them til they die, cause I'd be invincible... NOT. No thank you, I try not to cheat. Haven't yet.

Solution: Leave the quest until you're more powerful. Despite Oblivion's excessive monster scaling, it does tend to expect you to have better skills (either personal or character) for some things.
SOLVED... Someone suggested to RUN... so I did. As the Ghosts of the ship chased me off boat, I had the help of the town. Actually came in handy with another mission as well.
