Real Widescreen Or Stretched To Fill?
So out of the box does this game have native widescreen or does it just stretch to fill the screen like Morrowind? I prefer playing older games how they would have been when first released.

See for yourself. You pays your money and you takes your choice.

Up to your question, I have been playing in regular. I think I might try playing in wide. At the moment, I think it looks better and the text menus are certainly better, but, only using it will confirm which I prefer.

I have no idea which was the original. Sorry. But, my character looks more normal in widescreen than in normal screen, so, I suspect widescreen is correct.

Things do appear unaffected. Thank you. Widescreen was in it's infancy at the time and most monitors on PC were still 4:3 so I get worried about selecting it when it's an option for older titles. It's either the fake, stretched kind or poorly implemented.

Update:- I found the characters a little tall and thin in the longest wide screen setting (the one I used for the screenshot above). I would have expected short and fat, but, there you go. The text was so very much easier to read and took up much less screen when using the console though. I have tinkered about and found a "widescreen" setting which is optimal for me. I hope you find the right setting for your needs too. :DiceRoll:

in 2006 games usually supported full hd (1080p) already. even older titles (like call of duty 2 that came out in 2005) had 1080p settings too. it was just that monitors were expensive. not everyone uses a 4k monitor nowadays, even though it's been years since they became widely available.
