The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Game of the Year Edition (2009)

Which lighing setting is better?
Im playing Oblivion plain ol' vanilla, on max settings. Like "all-the-bars-to-the-right" max settings. I was just curious which was better, HDR or Bloom lighing. Also, ahat does Alti Aliasing do and what should I have that set to for max settings?

HDR is better, however it is can cause problems and instability on some systems. You can't normally use Anti Aliasing with HDR, as it is automatically disabled in the Oblivion video options when HDR is selected. You can only use AA with Bloom lighting in Oblivion, but you can force AA using your video card settings using the override setting.

Ok, so to get the best visual lighting stuff, what should I use?

If your system can handle it, use HDR in the Oblivion Settings. Than open Nvidia control panel, manage 3D settings, set your Antialiasing mode to Override any application, setting 16xQ CSAA or higher depending on your card, set Antialiasing Transpareny to 8x Supersample. You may also want to set Anisotropic Filtering to max.

In addition to the above recomendations, I would add, change the Anisotropic filtering to 16x,

Clamp the Texture filtering - Negative LOD bias, change the Texture filtering to High Quality, enable Triple buffering,

and if you can handle a bit of screen tearing, turn off the Verticle sync to free up all available fp/s.
