Mage or Warrior
Should I play a Nord Warrior (custom class) or Breton Mage (custom class)

If this is your first time playing I would go with Nord Custom Class Warrior, as melee is easier to learn and have success with.

I personally like playing a custom class Nord Warrior/Conjurer hybrid because conjuration is easy to skill up and your summons will help you out.

Playing a pure mage may be a little more difficult to figure out.

So if this is your first playthrough I recomend a battlemage type of class with whatever race you want. Playing a battlemage helps give you a rounder use of each of the ofensive skills (ie:magic, blade, marksman, ect.). If you decide to play more than once (or this isn't your first play through) I say warrior. Hacking and slashing your way through a dungon is really fun.

I don't agree with whoever said that bieng a mage is easy in oblivion...maybe in skryim, but I've tried to play a pure mage on even a lower level and that stuff ain't easy. IF you're playing a pure mage...which means nothing more than maybe a silver dagger and you would only use that in extream cases. Not to mention that playing a pure mage means NO ARMOR. In oblivion (not like skyrim) your character's magical abilities are hampered if they wear any armor.
