haha there were eight possible endings for morrowind they are all about the same but the aftermath is semi different, one red mountain erupts, another you have broken the prophecy so you have to actually try to get vivec to give you the wraithguard to use kragnecs tools... just a lot of slight variations either way you will fight dagoth ur and destroy the heart but also theres a few ways to get to the ending and like fallout 3/NV and skyrim what you do in the game effects the ending
however the ending never happens in game its kinda like afterwords but i always ended up breaking the prophecy so i had to get help from Yagram Bagarn the last dwemer known of in existence and use kragnecs tools to destroy the heart XD but i always kill vivec so i never get wraithguard haha, only item in most any of the elder scrolls game that sucks, drops 100 health every 30 seconds or so anyways
so red mountain wouldnt erupt in my game however because the way the lore is set, all 8 possible endings happened at once due to the fact of what the game says, red mountain erupts the hero vanishes from the game just whole bunch of crazy stuff, wont spoil it too much live your own adventures.
but its also said that nerevarine/blodskaal aka the hero of morrowind went on an expidition to the mysterious lands of akavir. crazy how an island is inhabited for hundred and hundreds of years and its where the decendant humanoid races came from in tamriel however you never hear about any one trying to go there except once in the game
Peace,
Magnus
MORROWIND MQ SPOILER
The Main Story has one ending. You get Kagrenac's tools, you get rid of Dagoth Ur, Azura will congratulate you and NPC's will start greeting you with a stutter. You can get to the ending multiple ways, each having various lore implications of what will hapen afterwards, but from a gameplay perspective there is only really one ending.
i pretty much explained this in my second post but thanks for clearing it up
i know it doesnt erupt in morrowind, there are events (based on what you do during the game and how you beat it ) that tell of what happens, yes you do not get to see them but they still happen they are post game consequences for different actions of beating the game in different manners... do they happen in the game no, you are correct, is there one way to beat the game yes. there are multiple paths to get to the ending and once you shut off the game or quit playing that finished game theres supposedly something that happens between the events of oblivion and morrowind that effects morrowind drastically
however they arent in game but heck you didnt see all the emperors get put into the throne die and replace between skyrim and oblivion did you ? no because theres missing segments, bethesda kinda tried to fill the blanks in the best they could but not everything is that easy. if you read every book everything involving the games. i got the big box morrowind and i figured out that defeating Dagoth actually caused something to happen after the events of morrowind there are eight that are mentioned, and i gues noo it doesnt blow its top but it never stopped spitting ash on the lands due to dagoth ur, this eventually made the "Ashlands" so bad as seen in skyrim vivec was a volcanic wasteland and the ashlands were much worse than they should have been.
however it was still the second time it erupted, in the first era, when the chimer/dwemer tried to stop the dunmer/dark elves from using the heart of lorkhan to achieve godhood they went to war and most the dwemer were wiped from existence, however shortly after the Red mountain erupted in 1E 660 (something lol somwhere in the 660's i dont know exact date) but it caused sun's death which blotted the sun out from the sky for a year due to volcanic ash and made a few plants not require sunlight to grow and thrive ( probably how in skyrim there were still growing plants despite the darkened skies and lack of sunlight
sorry for the confusion but still volcanic ash eruption lava eruption haha still kinda erupted but i get what your saying, XD quite the heated debate.. slow but heated XD souffle debates
Anyways Peace,
MAGNUS
There are not eight endings. Red Mountain will erupt on schedule no matter what you do. Vivec is losing his godhood no matter what you do. Kill him and nothing changes. Let him live and nothing changes. The Ministry of Truth will plunge into the city no matter what you do, because it was only Vivec's godhood that kept it in place. This is not Daggerfall where all eight endings happened at once, this is Morrowind where there is only one ending, the destruction of the Heart of Lorkhan. There are many ways to get there, but that is the sole ending for the main storyline. Are you SURE you are not confusing things with Daggerfall?
Truthfully i have so much stuck in my head with having most the fallout lore most the elder scrolls lore 3 languages and 5 instruments basis + learning more. could be, but i was sure there were multiple endings not in game but after the events of morrowind, however I do know for a fact that red mountain started an ash storm when Dagoth Ur came about in red mountain
yes ik there is only one main ending, but however things happen after the game is over, maybe not in game but oblivions record base shows many things happened during that time span that cant just be played on the game but obviously you werent supposed to play the game until oblivion happened, you could play oblvion until the supposed year skyrim happens and it doesnt do anything,
haha truthfully we should just drop it though XD hogging this guys forum with morrowind, despite the fact hes asking about oblivion and skyrim XD he must be like "whoa, fictional historical debate" XD ill have to look back into my elder scrolls
im doing a run through of all the games well... im hoping to complete every quest i can in each game so i guess i'll figure it out anyways thx for catching me haha didnt realize that may have been another game but , also ive been up until about 5 am then waking up at 12 to go back to the game haha, but : P ashlands were probably in a minor state by the time oblivion came into place
Stay Frosty,
MAGNUS
Skyrim... is sometimes Good... But Oblivion is best!
I met the elder scrolls series really late, through Skyrim. I fell in love with it: the scenary, the character interaction, the homemaking, the multitude of missions and paths to follow. Skyrim is one of my favorite games.
Obivion has a different aesthetic, more medieval, and less "family-making" interaction. But it is as great a game as Skyrim. It is a difficult comparison. I pay both of them a lot. Even got a new computer that could run them both with full details and performance.
In the end, however, that's just my personal bias. Skyrim has a lot of strengths (such as dual wielding and the skill tree customization) and honestly both are fantastic games with tons of modding potential. And both are tons of fun to play.
