Launching in Fullscreen WIndowed mode
Hey, I'm having a particular issue with Oblivion. After the splash screen, once the main menu comes up the game goes into a windowed fullscreen mode. Nothing in the options menu can change this. I checked my Oblivion.ini file and it says Fullscreen is set to 1. What could be causing this and how do I stop it? I only have like 7 mods right now and they're all minor stuff

Go to the Oblivion folder and find Oblivion_default.ini, check the fullscreen setting in it and see if it's set to 1 or 0. If it's set to 0, close the file and make a backup of it and then open the file again and change it to 1.

Try checking your resolution in the launcher.

It's set to my native resolution (1920x1080) and fullscreen is checked. I find it odd that everything appears to be set properly for fullscreen even in the .ini and launcher settings yet it doesn't display the game that way

What happens if you set it to windowed and then back to fullscreen?

Same issue. The splash movie before it is in proper fullscreen but when the main theme music starts playing the game has gone back to windowed FS. I tried not skipping through it with ESC and that didn't change it either

I solved this issue by this:
Click with right mouse button on Oblivion.exe file (do the same for OblivionLauncher.exe), and show it's properties. In my case, there was enabled compatibility mode with Windows XP SP3 and checked option to run as administrator.
Solution was to disable compatibility option and uncheck Administrator rights.

Sorry for necroposting but how did you get it to windowed fullscreen? I'm trying to do the same so I can get rid of the black screen bug for OBS
