how powerful is destruction magic at 100?
Highest damage per hit? (making your own spell too) without cheating/exploitng/glitching, not sure if worth getting to 100.

Speaking from experience, there's very little damage between level 1 destruction, and level 100. But at 100, you get access to ALL the spells, and some can do upwards of 120 points of damage.
...Of course, if you're like me, and build your own spells like you're addicted. The max, I've gotten, was around 300-400. I don't know, I'd have to look.

300-400 is alot more than i expected, in morrowind and skyrim the skill isn't even worth leveling. (did it once on each game just to see results)
Well, Skyrim does a TERRIBLE job with magic, and skills in general. And I've never actually played Morrowind. But between you and I, Oblivion beats Skyrim hands down in just about every category but graphics.
In Oblivion you have the fly-wheel, in which you can just press a number, and you cast the spell, while STILL holding your melee weapon.

Out of the 3 games this one is the best just because of how the combat system works, that alone is enough.

>400+ hours morrowind
>250+ hours skyrim
>oblivion nearly 100

Absolutely.
I may have nearly a thousand hours in Skyrim, but most of the time I was going,-"Oooh, aaah, prettyy." At the graphics. 'cuz nothing else is worth anything in that game.

the game is badly made and i hate saying this but when you're level 192 and you have to install mods for a broken game its not worth my time.
It's especially bad because it's a Bethesda game. WHAT HAPPENED?

The truth is, your destruction magic (and any other magic skill) is very influenced by how much magicka you have.

Right now I'm playing as a Dunmer Mage, he's level 21 and has 400 and something magicka, i created a spell that does 100 fire damage and 100 electric damage, the spell also affects a big area, costing about all my magicka.

Having a master magic skill only means that you are able to use and create any spell from that skill line. (Although I'm pretty sure some destruction spells can stun enemies and make them fall, like a critical hit).

PS: You should totally get your conjuration skill to master level so you can summon Lichs, they are so OP in battle...

Absolutely.

That is why ultimately, Restoration being high becomes important.
You use your restoration to buff up your intelligence and magicka (using multiple spells to stack)
Then when your max magicka is in the 1500-2000 range, pop a welklyd stone, recharging magicka, then unleash the most powerful spells you can make. We are speaking the type of destruction that levels towns or clears half a dungeon.
Of course being able to make those spells, is the main reason to reach 100 in any spell school.
If you have 100 in any spell school, and learn how to buff your magicka in this way, the only limit to your damage or ability is your imagination.

some of the spells you can make are pretty amazing, i had a spell once that did super high damage and had a rather large radius. You could walk into a guard barrack use the spell on something and everyone dropped dead :}
