The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Game of the Year Edition (2009)

Dark Brotherhood mod *spoilers*
Are there any mods out there that allow you to hunt and kill the DB? Sort of like in Skyrim where if you didn't want to join them you had the option of hunting them down, even if it was just a short little quest. As a good character I hate having this quest to join them stuck in my log permanently.

Thanks for any tips.

This option is already in the game: kill Lucien when he shows up while you sleep. Though as a "good" character I question how you got the quest to join them in the first place. ;)

There are a number of people that count as "Murders" in the game even if they assault you first or are a required target to finish a quest. The first that comes to mind is the last true round of the Arena to become Grand Champion, that counts as murder, and it's not the only one. I've got about seven counts of murder on my current character and I've never used this one to commit a single crime, haven't even picked up a spare cheese wheel. The system is just finnicky sometimes about certain characters, or just certain situations, flagging as murder.

And yes, I know you can kill Lucien but as the game itself then tells you, you lose any way to find the Dark Brotherhood from that point on. I'm aware that's where it ends in Vanilla but as many mods as there are out there I would have to think somebody thought of this before me and as a good character I figure hunting the Dark Brotherhood makes sense just as it did in Skyrim. Thus the question.

Well I have only done the DB questline once and I've never tried killing Lucien myself but if what ed says is true I'd imagine you'd have to kill Lucien once he tells you the location of the Dark Brotherhood Sanctuary. Of course (if I remember correctly) that means doing his murder mission....

Doesn't exactly answer your original post though, so sorry for not being very helpful :)
Hope you can find what you're looking for though.

In the DB questline in Oblivion is about killing all the members of DB. While I do understand, it would be nice to have an option of doing something else with the DB invitation.

It's far too easy to get "collateral damage" in this game. In my first playthrough I got an invite to the DB after doing the battle for Kvatch. It wasn't my fault! He ran in front of my sword!

In that case several of the members have been marked as essential including Lucien who becomes essential after killing Rufio so it's impossible to kill them all, and even then you've still just got a different DB mission hanging over your head for all eternity.

Edit: Found a mod on Nexus...not many endorsements so no idea if it works. We'll see.

Would just like to state, that unless there's a glitch that I've never experienced, this only counts as a murder if you've finished the quest Origins of the Gray Prince, and inform him of his bloodline.
