The type you have high skill ranks in.

Just wander around and have fun, you'll find good stuff as you level and do quests.

The best armor and weapons starting out are difficult to aquire, but not impossible.

First go to the tavern in Chorrol and talk to Reynald Jemaine. Then go to the Inn in Cheydinhal and find the person mentioned. The NPC will then run to Chorrol.

While you wait, go to Crestbridge Camp which is far SE of the Imperial City. If you look at the map it is where the water forms a V seperating the land. The camp is near the road across a bridge.

Talk to the people there and activate the quest Goblin Trouble. Go to Timberscar Hollow and find two Goblin Totems inside. They are powerful magical staves at low levels.

Once you have one or both staves, go to Vindasel, which is SW of the Waterfront District of the Imperial City. It is across the water.

Inside is an NPC named Umbra. You need to kill her for her Armor and Weapon. She is level 50 and is very fast and powerful. Make sure you save your game before attacking her.

Equip the staff and jump off the railing onto one of the stone beams in the middle of the room. Then just blast her with the staff until she is dead.

Now go back to Chorrol and finish the first quest with the Jemanes and start and complete the second quest.

Once complete you have to wait 3 game days to begin the 3rd quest. When the 3 days are up talk to Fathis Ules in Chorrol. Then go get the sword from Redguard Valley Cave by defeating the Chieftain.

Do not return the sword until level 25.

Now you should have two swords, both of which are weightless until you complete the quests and you will also have Orcish~Ebony armor depending on your level.

Horse Armor

Daedric Armour for heavy, has the highest defence count. Enchanted, it will be a killer. Custom encanting works well, but collect Sigil stones and get the best ones for your type.
Daedric Blades have the highest base damage. Enchanted is deadly, as always.

Mithril Armour is the best light armour with the highest Light defence count. You can also enchant them with what you like

Everything depends on your skill levels though. A high Blade skill level with a high Strength (I am 100+ with both) will get a high damage output. (I have 28 on the Daedric sword).

Hope I helped!!

PS For those idiots who think I am bragging, I'm only level 30 and am not the best. Pretty good though.
