Good Opener Spells for Combat?
Thinking about making a "Death Knight" type class using heavy armor, health absorb, melee weapons soon.

One thing I was wondering is, are there any truly good Opener spells in the game for that sort of play or just all round? Trying to avoid paralysis cause i consider it op. Open to using silence though.

Like, specifically are any of the absorb attribute or absorb skill or even drains worth using for their cost? Or should I just focus on increasing raw damage output?

Using ooo if it matters, I know spell costs are different but generally wondering how good increasing my skills or attributes vs hurting the enemies is instead of just focusing on murdering them from the get go.

Edit: let's say skill does not matter for sake of the argument, but realistically I'm trying to pump restoration and avoid destruction.

Also, I want a claymore with huge damage enchantments, but want enchantments on my 1 hander to be more defensive based. Ideas? Only thinking of absorb health right now.

You are asking this/ these questions, yet you are using OOO!
Paralyze is not op unless you invest in illusion a lot. Even if you are going to enchant weapons yourself, you are going to be 70+ in illusion before they become op'ed and then you can only enchant at Frostcragg.

Absorb health is a great spell and very economic as it hurts and heals at the same time.

If enchanting weapons yourself, learn to stack weakness too and damage correctly. A lot more op'ed than paralyze.

If using spells then stick to absorb spells, silence, paralyze you need a minimum of 50 in illusion to get it.
Create spells same as weapons, use weakness too and damage. You do it correctly and they stack, making each attack/ spell you do stronger.

All for now. Have a great game.

I think the idea of using disintegrate weapon + armor sounds useful for a deathknight. You want to wear down your opponent before a heavy attack? you can do that, probably. I forgot what OOO is like, but destroying your opponents weapon sounds like a game changer in a game that constantly scales with you.

If you are making a Death Knight, conjuration spells would be very good opener. Summon a skeleton, zombie, or ghost and let them make an opening for you.
Craft a spell that

restores health over 2 seconds
restores fatigue over 2 seconds
shield for 6 seconds
resist magicka for 6 seconds
fortify blade or blunt for 6 seconds

Use that spell in combat as a heal spell
Craft a spell: SUIT UP
(may not be early game)
bound all types of armor and dagger
fortify blade 100
also just get a better healing spell than minor wounds that feels essential.
I haven't played the remaster, but I recall having a crafted spell that did 3 things nuke, summon one of those lizard/dragon guys and go invisible. Worked great.
