Doubtful. Bethesda gave them their blessing, and even gave the entire dev team free copies of the remaster.
4 hours into remaster I dropped it, performance is abysmal.
Open world goes 30-45 fps, like it's a damn trampoline, up and down constantly.
Dungeons (grand total of 2 done) were fine. 70+ fps, stable.
Changing graphical settings did f*** all, setting DLSS from Balanced to ultra performance gave me whooping 10fps while making game look significantly worse.
Still hoping skyblivion gets released this year, would like to play Oblivion with improved looks.
Yep.
I assume they'll patch it eventually, but for now I'm staying away.
Ironically, I got game pass to play Oblivion remaster, dropped it same day I installed it, switched to Clair Obscur (never even heard of it before installing it) and loved every second of it.
So something good in the end.
Remaster looks damn amazing, shame performance is terrible.
Second, as someone who has played the game multiple times (and this is subjective)... I feel paying almost full $ on the same game isn't worth it. After about an hour into the game when all the "Wow great Graphics!!" was over, it was like ... hmm "been there, done that".
I would wait till the price drops and things get optimized.
Skyblivion guys have really put their hearts into it. Added a lot of stuff. Really looking forward to it.
It's official information, Bethesda gave free copies of the remaster to the skyblivion devs, and have allowed it to exist this entire time.
But it's unlikely skyblivion releases this year. they just finished the Exteriors a couple months ago and said they need to nav mesh the world. I dont think the devs realize that the nav meshing and the last 5% of the game development is the longest part.
If it does release this year I'd imagine it'll be extremely buggy with tons of broken quests due to AI navigation of the nav meshing.
I'm pretty sure Skyblivion devs know what they are doing. Remember, it's fan project, that will be avaliable for free for owners of Oblivion and Skyrim. No need to bash them. Lets be positive and hope for the best, since we all want to play a good games/mods.
Remaster has horrible performance, modern elements, and some ugly reinterpretations.
Skyblivion still at least has hope, and seems to be made with passion by real OG fans.
There are players doesnt have good pc or rig, even dont know how to set it up and ended up crashing cause of over heat mostly.
I havent played this in years, not sure when i will crawl back in there. But i need to look into Skyblivion and see what going on there.
