I'm glad the remaster came out as it reminded me that I should play this game again. Oblivion really was a game they cannot or will not make now, it's from the twilight years of when RPGs were still free to be awesome. The body type 1/2 is a sore reminder of how much as changed. Men and women not being allowed to be different with different stats is just the beachhead of how much everything has been NERFED. The blood on your weapon and the floors. Sexual, crude, and racist comments from some NPCs. Demonic portals with horrific traps and mutilated corpses. The guards boldly and heroically showing up to save the day whenever they are able to. Where some semblance of good and evil still exists. With all of these extremes beautifully juxtaposed on a whimsical fairy tale setting that at first glance you might think was a game for children. I encourage you to watch the "making of Oblivion" on Youtube to catch a glimpse of the culture this game came from, a culture that no longer exists. Oblivion really was the high point of the Elder Scrolls games and more than likely will never be surpassed.

We truly do live in a mental institution surrounded by crazies and their enablers. I hope someday we'll overcome this crisis and restore logic and reason to the world. But until then, we should hold dear what few precious artefacts we have of the old world such as this game and avoid Sheogorath's cruel jokes. Seriously though, the world needs to get a grip.

Give it a year or so with modders, the remaster will be the better version to play in every possible way. But for now this version is in fact ideal/better if modding is something you care about. My Oblivion setup is genuinely RPG perfection (imo obv), and the remaster just can't capture how much I enjoy it setup how I like.

You are both wrong. The remaster will be the go to version of this game for the average casual gamer for the rest of time and will be acknowledged as the canon version of the game whenever Bethesda needs to refer to it.
But it also won't be better than the original simply because the unreal engine visuals are so butt ugly, mods won't be able to fix all of it.

Fallout 3 remastered will split the playcount up nice and good, which will humble these people that tote about the FAKE 4 million play count, since the player count didn't even peak 500k on day 1-3. Where's the 3.5 million other players huh?? exactly. it's a lie.

Booted up my old save file in oblivion and noticed i have a perfect set of chameleon.. time to go on a looting spree. Then make a new character without chameleon because .. yeah.

They added bunch of new animations and other than the visual improvement they literally tricked people into buying the same game again. People never learn I guess... They behave like a farm animal, the moment you show some food they will literally follow you until the end of the world. People are getting dumber and I thought people were supposed to get smarter with the new techs? It's literally the opposite, they literally become much more easier to control and nobody has any backbones anymore

Exactly. Its one of the reasons why I prefer the original. This remaster is just a cash grab.

Its a shame humanity still prefers itself to be controlled by people that dont care about them. I wonder how many times we as a species need to do this until we realize, "oh, this is bad?" My guess? Many, many times.
